Our biennial General Meeting stands as a pinnacle event in the global medical community, bringing together leading professionals, researchers, and experts in the field of limb salvage, to share insights, collaborate on groundbreaking advancements, and foster a collective commitment to excellence in our specialty.

Meeting Rotation

The ISOLS General Meeting is organized every two years (2026, 2028, 2030, 2032, etc.) and follows an established continental rotation between:

EUROPE

THE AMERICAS

ASIA/OCEANIA

The 2026 ISOLS General Meeting will take place in Europe (Vienna, Austria).

The 2028 ISOLS General Meeting is due to take place in the Americas.

The 2030 ISOLS General Meeting is due to take place in Asia/Oceania.

Eligibility to Submit a Proposal

Hosting proposals may only be submitted by active members of ISOLS. The lead applicant of the hosting proposal will serve as Congress President for the respective meeting should the bid be successful. As such, the individual is expected to be an active and engaged member of both ISOLS and the local medical community.

ISOLS strongly encourages broad participation from the local orthopedic oncology community within the bidding country, as wider engagement further strengthens the country’s involvement in the Society. Ideally, the bidding group should include at least five active ISOLS members to demonstrate sustained commitment and substantial participation within the organization.

Proposal Evaluation Criteria

The ISOLS Meeting Selection Committee rigorously evaluates each proposal based on several criteria, including:

  • Scientific merit of the proposed host
  • Venue capabilities
  • Accessibility for international participants
  • Accommodation options
  • Overall local support for hosting a world-class medical meeting of the size and standards of ISOLS

Scope of Work – Meeting Host

The selected Meeting Host will be responsible for:

  • Scientific program development, including invited speakers and abstract evaluation
  • Liaising with potential local sponsors and local funding initiatives
  • Providing suggestions for the social program

The selected Meeting Host will cooperate closely with the core Professional Congress Organizer (core PCO) of ISOLS, Erasmus Conferences & Events S.A., for the organization and implementation of the Meeting.
